Texas HB4403 amends Section 130.082 of the Education Code to allow the board of trustees of a junior college district to decide, by resolution, that a candidate must receive a plurality of the votes cast to be elected. This change can be made up to 180 days before an election and applies to subsequent elections until rescinded. The act takes effect September 1, 2025.
