Allows certain Texas counties to designate constables as weight enforcement officers.
This bill amends the Texas Transportation Code to allow county commissioners courts to designate constables or deputy constables as weight enforcement officers in specific counties. These include counties with a population of 1.5 million or more and within 200 miles of an international border, those adjacent to a county with a population of 3.3 million or more, and counties with a population between 75,000 and 90,000 that are adjacent to a county meeting the second criterion. The act takes effect September 1, 2025.
