Increases the criminal penalty for aggravated sexual assault committed by a member of the clergy.

This bill amends the Texas Penal Code to increase the minimum term of imprisonment for aggravated sexual assault to 25 years if the victim is younger than six years old, the victim is younger than 14 years old and the actor commits the offense in a specific manner, or the actor is a member of the clergy. The changes apply only to offenses committed on or after the effective date of the Act. The Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
