Texas HB3890 amends the Occupations Code to specify that a physician cannot supervise or delegate the prescribing or ordering of a drug or device to a physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse who practices in a medical specialty outside the scope of the physician's residency training or primary medical practice. This restriction does not apply if the physician has at least five years of previous practice experience in that specialty. The changes will take effect on September 1, 2025.
