Texas HB3889 amends the Occupations Code to specify that a physician may delegate the act of prescribing or ordering controlled substances or dangerous drugs or devices to an advanced practice registered nurse or physician assistant only if authorized by a prescriptive authority agreement. This delegation must occur under adequate physician supervision and only for patients with whom the delegating physician has an established relationship. The bill takes effect on September 1, 2025.
