Texas HB3807 establishes a priority on child-care services waiting lists for children of eligible child-care workers.
HB3807 amends the Texas Labor Code to give priority on child-care services waiting lists to children of child-care workers. Local workforce development boards must prioritize these children. The priority remains in effect until the child is placed in child-care services or until the first anniversary of placement, whichever comes first. If a child-care worker leaves the workforce before the anniversary, the commission may terminate child-care services for the worker's child. The act takes effect September 1, 2025.
