Texas HB3692 provides additional state aid to school districts for operating costs of certain prekindergarten classes.
Texas HB3692 amends the Education Code to provide additional state aid to school districts for operating costs of prekindergarten classes. This aid covers costs for staffing, instructional materials, facilities, and curriculum requirements when these classes are provided through a contract with a community-based child-care provider, a private entity, or an eligible private provider. The aid is equal to the difference between the necessary operating costs and the amount to which the district is otherwise entitled. The act takes effect September 1, 2025.
