Specifically, it excludes activities involving the use of laser lights, noise-emitting devices, or recorded sounds to control nuisance birds, provided these activities comply with local noise ordinances. The exemption does not apply to activities involving devices to kill, harm, trap, or collect live nuisance birds, chemicals, explosive devices, or activities that pose a risk of harm to people, animals, property, or the environment.
