Texas HB3384 ensures districts of innovation comply with certain state and federal education requirements.
Texas HB3384 amends the Education Code to specify that local innovation plans for districts of innovation cannot exempt these districts from certain requirements. These include state or federal mandates for open-enrollment charter schools, most provisions under Subchapters A, C, D, and E of Chapter 11, class size limits and related notices, state curriculum and graduation requirements, and academic and financial accountability under Chapters 39 and 39A. The changes apply to all local innovation plans, whether adopted before or after the bill's effective date of September 1, 2025.
