Texas HB3356 modifies reliability requirements for electric generation facilities in the ERCOT power region.
Texas HB3356 amends the Utilities Code to change the applicability of certain reliability requirements for electric generation facilities. It applies these requirements only to facilities in the ERCOT power region that have a standard generator interconnection agreement, have been operational for at least one year, and are not self-generators. The bill repeals certain sections from a previous bill and sets a new deadline for the first demonstration required by the Utilities Code, effective January 1, 2027. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
