Texas HB330 amends the Family Code to change how certain cases of child abuse or neglect are reported and investigated. Specifically, it exempts healthcare professionals from mandatory reporting if the pregnant person discloses illegal controlled substance use and either enrolls in or has completed a substance abuse treatment program. Additionally, the professional must determine there is no immediate risk to the child from the substance exposure. The changes take effect September 1, 2025.
