Texas HB3135 amends the Transportation Code to create a new section for retired firefighters. It defines "retired firefighter" as someone who was a volunteer firefighter certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection or the State Firefighters' and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas, or fire protection personnel. The Department of Public Safety must design and issue these specialty plates without charge. The act takes effect on September 1, 2025.
