Expands Medicaid eligibility to certain women of reproductive age in Texas.
This bill amends the Human Resources Code to expand Medicaid eligibility for women in Texas who are of reproductive age, between 19 and 50 years old, with household incomes at or below 133 percent of the federal poverty level. The bill requires the Health and Human Services Commission to provide medical assistance to eligible women who apply and for whom federal funds are available. The executive commissioner must adopt rules to implement this change. The bill also allows for delays in implementation if a federal waiver or authorization is needed.
