Provides a franchise tax credit for entities that open a grocery store or healthy corner store in a Texas food desert.

This bill amends the Texas Tax Code to create a franchise tax credit for entities that establish a grocery store or healthy corner store in a food desert. A food desert is defined as an area with limited access to healthy food retailers and located in a low-income or high-poverty area. To qualify for the credit, the store must be open year-round, begin accepting benefits under the WIC program and the supplemental nutrition assistance program within 90 days of opening, and be located in a low or moderate income area.
