Texas HB2999 allows hydrogen-fueled vehicles to exceed weight limits if federal law permits.
Texas HB2999 amends the Transportation Code to allow hydrogen-fueled vehicles to exceed weight limitations by the difference in weight between the hydrogen tank and a comparable diesel tank, up to a maximum of 82,000 pounds. This change only takes effect if federal law authorizes hydrogen-fueled vehicles to operate at weights exceeding federal limits. Otherwise, the Act has no effect.
