Texas HB2957 amends motorcycle operation rules on divided highways.
HB2957 modifies Texas Transportation Code to clarify motorcycle operation rules. Motorcycle operators are entitled to full use of a lane, and other vehicles must not deprive them of this right. Motorcycles can operate two abreast in a single lane or pass vehicles in the same lane if certain conditions are met, such as being on a divided highway with at least two lanes in each direction, the vehicle being passed is stopped or moving at no more than 10 mph, and the motorcycle is operated at no more than 20 mph.
