Texas HB2735 amends the Health and Safety Code to prohibit signs advertising cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or tobacco products from being located within 1,000 feet of a church or school. The distance is measured from the nearest property line of the institution to the closest point on a street or highway. This prohibition does not apply to signs that were located within 1,000 feet but not closer than 500 feet to a church or school before September 1, 1997. The changes take effect September 1, 2025.
