Texas HB2533 amends the Education Code to allow the board of trustees to resume management of a campus or school district if each campus involved receives an acceptable performance rating. The commissioner may remove a board of managers if the campuses meet the performance criteria. The changes apply starting with the 2025-2026 school year. If the bill receives a two-thirds vote, it takes effect immediately; otherwise, it takes effect September 1, 2025.
