Texas HB2515 amends the Insurance Code to prohibit insurers from requiring consumers to purchase, or using underwriting guidelines to require, a personal automobile or residential property insurance policy from the same insurer or affiliate as a condition for issuing another policy. This practice is deemed an unfair method of competition or an unfair or deceptive act or practice in the business of insurance. The changes will take effect on September 1, 2025.
