Texas HB2421 amends the Special District Local Laws Code to set the dissolution date for the Save Historic Muny District to May 31, 2027, unless an agreement is made with the land owner for preserving the historic Lions Municipal Golf Course as a public golf course, parkland, or a combination. The district can enter into a contract with the city for revenue from municipal utility customers, provided an agreement with the land owner is in place by the dissolution date. The act takes effect immediately if passed by a two-thirds vote in both houses, otherwise it takes effect September 1, 2025.
