Texas HB2376 amends requirements for facilities providing care to Alzheimer's patients.
HB2376 revises Texas Health and Safety Code to establish a certification system for nursing facilities providing care and treatment for Alzheimer's patients. Facilities must meet standards set by the executive commissioner and obtain a three-year certification. Facilities cannot advertise their certification status. The law exempts facilities providing care before January 1, 2030, but new facilities must comply starting January 1, 2027. The executive commissioner will adopt rules to implement these changes. The Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
