Texas HB2301 amends the Family Code to allow a man to register with the state registry of paternity if he wishes to be notified of proceedings for adoption or termination of parental rights regarding a child he may have fathered. The man can register before the child's birth or within 14 days after the birth. If a man registers later than 14 days after the birth, the vital statistics unit must notify him that the registration was not timely filed.
