Texas HB2206 amends the Education Code to require superintendents or directors of school districts, charter schools, and other educational entities to notify local law enforcement within 48 hours of becoming aware of alleged misconduct by educators. Failure to report by the required deadline with intent to conceal misconduct is a state jail felony. The bill also allows the State Board for Educator Certification to impose fines and withhold certification renewal for non-compliance. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
