Texas HB22 amends the Government Code to authorize the comptroller to provide funding for the deployment and operation of early warning and emergency systems, as well as interoperable emergency communication equipment and infrastructure. The bill specifies that the fund can be used for these purposes and prohibits favoring particular broadband technologies in awarding contracts, grants, loans, or other financial incentives. The changes take effect on the 91st day after the last day of the legislative session.
