Expunges arrest records for unlawful handgun carrying if convicted or on community supervision before September 1, 2021.
Texas HB2066 amends the Code of Criminal Procedure to allow the expunction of arrest records and files for individuals arrested for unlawful carrying of a handgun. This applies if the person was either tried and convicted of the offense or placed on deferred adjudication community supervision for the offense, and the offense occurred before September 1, 2021. The law takes effect on September 1, 2025.
