This bill creates a new chapter for the Somervell County Hospital District, outlining the election of its board of directors. Elections will occur in May to fill four-year terms. For the 2026 election, a lottery will determine that two directors serve two-year terms and three serve three-year terms. All directors elected in 2027 and thereafter will serve four-year terms. The act takes effect September 1, 2025, unless it receives a two-thirds vote in both houses, in which case it takes effect immediately.
