Texas HB1988 modifies the Texas Juvenile Justice Department's information disclosure policy by allowing the department to release information about individuals who were committed to the department, including personally identifiable information, if the individual has been discharged, is at least 18 years old, and has given consent. The department must adhere to the individual's consent regarding what information is disclosed and for what purpose. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
