Texas HB198 requires political subdivisions employing firefighters to offer occupational cancer screenings at no cost. The screenings must occur in the fifth year of employment and every three years thereafter. The screenings must be confidential and test for colorectal, prostate, lung, and brain cancer. This Act is named the Wade Cannon Act and takes effect September 1, 2025.
