Texas HB1977 modifies the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure to allow the admissibility of evidence of other crimes, wrongs, or acts committed by the defendant against the victim in certain sexual assault cases. The bill applies to cases involving trafficking of persons, continuous trafficking of persons, compelling prostitution, sexual assault, and aggravated sexual assault. The changes take effect September 1, 2025.
