Texas HB1830 amends the Education Code to prohibit public institutions of higher education from granting tenure or any type of permanent employment status to employees. This prohibition does not apply to faculty members or other employees who were employed by or under contract with the institution before September 1, 2025, and who remain continuously employed or under contract. The Board of Regents may establish an alternate system of tiered employment status for faculty members.
