Texas HB1759 amends the duties of public school counselors to focus on fully developing students' academic, career, personal, social, and emotional abilities. Counselors will plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental program addressing students at risk of dropping out, substance abuse, gang activity, or suicide. They will also assist with interpreting test results, delivering classroom guidance, and resolving student conflicts, including bullying. This Act applies starting with the 2025-2026 school year.
