Texas HB1751 amends the Election Code to prohibit candidates from applying for a place on the ballot for more than one political party's primary election. If a candidate violates this provision, their application will be rejected, and they will not receive a refund of the filing fees. Additionally, such candidates will be ineligible for the succeeding general election as an independent, a nominee of another party, or a write-in candidate. The secretary of state will establish procedures to implement this section. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
