Texas HB1557 amends the Transportation Code to require toll project entities to establish discount programs for electronic toll collection customers. These programs must include free or discounted use of the toll project for customers with vehicles registered under specific sections. The bill also allows toll project entities to limit the number of transponders issued to participants in the waiver program to no more than two. Entities that adopt such a limit must allow participants to be issued one extra transponder if they demonstrate hardship. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
