Texas HB1476 adds a "None of the above" option on ballots for voters to choose instead of voting for any candidate.
Texas HB1476 amends the Election Code to provide voters with the option to select "None of the above" instead of voting for a candidate in each race. This option will appear on the ballot alongside each candidate's name. A vote for "None of the above" will not count towards determining which candidate received a majority of votes. The Secretary of State will determine the form and manner of placing this option on the ballot. The changes will take effect on September 1, 2025.
