Texas HB1210 allows commissioners courts in large counties to set uniform work hours for certain county employees.

Texas HB1210 amends the Local Government Code to allow commissioners courts in counties with a population of 350,000 or more, or those covered by a county civil service system, to adopt and enforce uniform rules on the hours of work for department heads, assistants, deputies, and other employees. This does not apply to sheriff's or constable's office employees in smaller counties. The act takes effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in both houses, otherwise it takes effect September 1, 2025.
