The bill establishes the office of food system security and resiliency within the Texas Department of Agriculture. The office will be responsible for ensuring a food system free of disruption, promoting the growth and processing of agricultural products, developing regional food system security and resiliency planning, and promoting localized food markets. The office will also make recommendations to the legislature for legislation that may improve food system security and resiliency in the state. The office will be established by December 31, 2025.
