HB1183 amends the Health and Safety Code to allow county and municipal authorities to prohibit e-cigarette retailers from operating within 300 feet of a primary or secondary school campus. The board of trustees of a school district or governing body of a private school may request a prohibition within 1,000 feet of a public or private school campus. The prohibition does not apply to retailers whose gross receipts from e-cigarettes are less than 50 percent of their total gross receipts. The act takes effect September 1, 2025.
