Exempts paramedics from tuition and lab fees at Texas public colleges and universities.
This bill amends the Texas Education Code to exempt paramedics from paying tuition and laboratory fees at public institutions of higher education if they are enrolled in emergency medical services courses. The exemption does not apply to certain additional tuition charges or to distance education courses where enrollment exceeds 20% of maximum capacity. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board must adopt rules governing the exemption and a list of covered degree programs. The changes apply starting with the 2025 fall semester.
