Texas HB1036 amends compensation rules for certain court administrative staff.
HB1036 modifies the compensation process for court coordinators and court administrators in Texas. Judges will now determine the reasonable compensation for court coordinators, subject to approval by the commissioners court. The compensation for court administrators will also be determined by the judges, within the salary range for the position. The commissioners court will set the compensation for other county and precinct officers and employees, except as specified in Sections 74.104 and 75.401 of the Government Code. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
