This bill honors Susan O. Binns, a pioneer in Tennessee's recovery housing and addiction treatment fields. Binns founded YANA, one of Nashville's first recovery housing communities for women, and the Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences. She also served as president of the Association of Halfway House Alcoholism Programs, which evolved into the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. Binns received the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tennessee Association for Addiction Professionals and mentored many leaders in the recovery community.
