SB2715 amends the charter of the Town of Oakland to redefine the role and duties of the Town Manager. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen now appoints and fixes the salary of the Town Manager, who serves at the will of the Board. The Town Manager is responsible for the direction and administration of all offices, departments, and activities. The Board retains the power to appoint and remove the Town Recorder. The act requires approval by a two-thirds vote of the Town of Oakland's legislative body to become effective.
