SB2649 establishes a cold case division within the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to review unresolved missing person and homicide cases.

SB2649 amends Tennessee law to create a cold case division within the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. This division will be divided into three geographic regions, each staffed by a regional director and at least five cold case detectives. Local law enforcement agencies must submit unsolved missing person or homicide cases to this division if they remain unresolved after ten years.
