SB2623 amends Tennessee law to allow package stores in urban and general services districts of metropolitan governments.

SB2623 modifies Tennessee Code to permit the operation of package stores in urban and general services districts of metropolitan governments. It removes the restriction that prevents package stores from operating within civil districts of a county. The bill also allows metropolitan governments to approve the retail sale of liquor through local option elections, expanding where package stores can be licensed.
