SB2589 amends Tennessee's arts commission structure, vacating current members and setting new appointment terms.

SB2589 revises the Tennessee arts commission by vacating the current commission on July 1, 2026, and establishing new appointment terms. The commission will consist of fifteen members, broadly representative of the performing, visual, and literary arts. Initial appointments are staggered, with the governor appointing members from specific congressional districts for terms of three, four, or five years. The speakers of the senate and house of representatives each appoint one member from each grand division for terms of three, four, or five years. Subsequent appointments are for five years.
