AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 56, relative to medicare supplement policies.

Introduced·2/2/26
Draft Text

SB2575 amends Tennessee law to ensure Medicare supplement policies are available to non-age eligible persons.

SB2575 amends Tennessee Code to ensure insurers offering Medicare supplement policies to persons aged 65 and older also offer these policies to non-age eligible persons enrolled in Medicare. The bill specifies that insurers cannot charge non-age eligible persons more than the weighted average aged premium rate and must provide proof of compliance. It also mandates that policies for non-age eligible persons cannot include waiting periods or preexisting condition limitations. The weighted average aged premium rate is calculated based on the premium rates and number of insureds in each age band.
