SB2534 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 7, Chapter 82, Part 7 and Title 65, Chapter 4, Part 1, relative to utilities. It adds a new category for utility systems owned and operated by nonprofit associations. These associations must have been created in 1985, govern and maintain a community with at least 5,000 lots or units, provide direct funding for emergency services, and offer water and wastewater services. The act takes effect upon becoming law.
