SB2528

AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4, Chapter 3, Part 10 and Title 11, Chapter 8, relative to the Ocoee River.

Complete·5/27/26

Tennessee SB2528 limits permits for commercial operations on the Ocoee River and reallocates funds for infrastructure and tourism.

Starting July 1, 2026, Tennessee SB2528 restricts the number of permits for commercial operations on the Ocoee River to a maximum of 24, reducing to 12 as permits expire. It prohibits permit holders from reapplying if their permit is revoked or their business closes. The bill also allows permit transfers to immediate family members or through a purchase agreement, with commissioner approval. Funds from the development account can be used for infrastructure upgrades and tourism promotion benefiting the Ocoee River management zone.
