Tennessee SB2495 amends wage laws to set a state minimum wage and adjust it annually.

Tennessee SB2495 amends wage laws to establish a state minimum wage of $20.00 per hour starting January 1, 2027. Beginning January 1, 2028, the state minimum wage will be adjusted annually based on the percentage change in the consumer price index for all urban consumers. Employers must pay employees at least the greater of the federal minimum wage or the state minimum wage. Employers are also required to pay overtime at one and one-half times the regular wage rate for hours worked over 40 in a week.
