This bill amends Tennessee law to allow sitting or retired chancery, circuit, or appellate court judges, and sitting or retired governor-appointed judges, to carry a weapon, including a firearm, in any location and manner where a law enforcement officer is permitted to carry a firearm. This authorization is contingent on the judge being authorized to carry a handgun under Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13. The act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
