SB2445

SB2445 amends Tennessee education laws to redefine collaborative conferencing and restrict its use by local boards of education and professional.

SB2445 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, to redefine "collaborative conferencing" as a process for exchanging information between local boards of education and professional employees. It prohibits both parties from engaging in collaborative conferencing. The bill also redefines "representative" to exclude attorneys and grants professional employees the right to request meetings with their local board of education, though the board can refuse such requests. The act ensures existing contracts remain valid and takes effect on July 1, 2026.
